Personalising Playtime

Can you think of anything better than playing a game? That sense of anticipation you get before the first dice roll, when everyone is on equal footing and victory is everyone’s for the taking. The roller-coaster of emotions are the game unfolds, one minute you’re leading, the next you’re lagging. The sensation you get when you know the sweet smell of ‘Victory’ is in the bag! Perhaps it is the post match bragging rights that you enjoy most?

Games tick so many sensory boxes, not just emotional, but mental – the strategy for success, planning how to out wit, out roll, out manoeuvre your opponent(s).

By and large, games are played in fantasy settings – from the Cluedo Mansion to the virtual environment of World of Warcraft. We have many ways to personalise our ‘character’ within these games; in Cluedo you can be Mr Green, whilst in WoW you can join one of the many Gilds and forge an identity within it.

Memory Lane Games personalises playtime, but in a slightly different way than other games on the market. We don’t offer Virtual Avatars to dress up, or simulation environments (ie, Sim Worlds) to decorate.

For us, ‘Personalised Playtime’ means a game that is about you (the player) and your memories. Since the dawn of time, humans have been social anthropologists, cataloging our lives and experiences with¬†carvings, paintings, words and photographs, and laterally blogs, videos, and status updates.

With such a wealth of ‘content’ at our disposal, why not step away from the fantasy and instead look at our own happy realities – past and present. Memory Lane Games is challenging people to¬†breathe life into the biscuit tins, album, and digital archives of photographs that have been so carefully curated over the years. Let’s shine light again on the photos you forgot you had!!
