First Memory-Match Playing Cards

I received fantastic feedback from my dad regarding my grandfather’s first play attempt with the flashcards tonight. We got some invaluable, immediate feedback on how his brain was processing the pictures on the cards in front of him.

To start with, he could not recognise my aunt, cousin and sister at all. But as the game progressed his recollection of all three family members started to come back. By the end, he was fully aware of who my sister was again.

One thing we did recognise was the cards with single faces produced better recognition results than those with multiple faces. Pictures with simple, less noisy backgrounds were more successful than those with detailed background activity.

My father commented that the game “was obviously very mentally demanding – but that was the point.”

We’re already discussing ideas for commissioning an additional set of cards!! As proof of concept validation, this is such amazing feedback to receive.
